Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be able to have my phone?
Clients are not permitted to have their cell phones during their stay at Abria Detox; however, they will have access to the Client landline phone that they can utilize at any point during their stay. We recommend that clients create a list of important phone numbers upon arrival.

Can I smoke?
Yes! At Abria Detox, clients are permitted to smoke during any of our supervised smoke breaks outside on out patio. At this time, we only allow cigarettes or vapes, brought in new unopened packages. Lighters, chewing tobacco, or loose tobacco are not permitted within our facility and will be stored in a secure locked area for the duration of the client's stay.

Will I be allowed to have visitors?
For the safety and privacy of all our clients at Abria Detox, we do not allow visitors into the facility. Clients can utilize the client phone to contact loved ones and keep them updated on their stay.

Can I have items dropped off for me?
Clients may have cigarettes/vapes (in new, unopened packages), clothes, or other approved items dropped off for them at the front desk. To ensure the safety of our clients and staff, any items dropped off will be subject to a search before being handed over to the client.

How long will my stay be?
Each client entering our detox facility has a unique story and experiences related to their withdrawal and detoxification. We provide personalized care by assessing factors such as the substances involved, the severity of dependence, and overall health. Our established protocols ensure safe and effective support. Detox stays typically range from 3 to 10 days, depending on how well clients manage their withdrawal symptoms. While some may respond quickly and require a shorter stay, others may need more time for stabilization. Our medical and therapeutic teams closely monitor each client, adjusting care plans as needed to promote comfort and facilitate a smooth transition to the next phase of recovery.

What should I bring with me?
Please bring the following items to ensure a smooth admissions process: Photo Identification, Insurance Card, and Payment Method if required during admissions. Pack comfortable clothing for your stay, limiting yourself to two bags. We provide all hygiene products, so no need to bring soap, shampoo, or toothpaste. If you take any prescribed medications, please bring them in their original containers and inform our staff before arrival.

What happens after my stay?
After detox, the next step is crucial for sustained recovery. Our Care Coordinators will work closely with you to develop a personalized plan that outlines your next level of care. This may include options such as outpatient therapy, inpatient rehabilitation, or support groups. We prioritize your ongoing support and will help connect you with appropriate resources and treatment programs tailored to your needs. Our goal is to ensure you have a solid foundation for continued recovery and a supportive network as you move forward.

What does the average day look like?
Each client’s experience during detox may vary based on their substance use and individual coping mechanisms. We provide a continental breakfast, catered lunch and dinner, along with snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Clients can relax in our two lounge areas, which include TVs, board games, books, and card games, as well as access to the client phone. Multiple smoke breaks are offered daily for clients to go outside to our back patio under staff supervision, and non-smokers are welcome to join. During their stay, clients undergo a Biopsychosocial assessment, which helps them collaborate with our care coordination team to plan their next steps in recovery.
